Hilton Head, South Carolina, resident Richard E. Thomas is a graduate of Princeton University. He majored in East Asian Studies and
served as co-chair of the Student-Faculty Colloquium on Souhheast Asia before traveling to Thammasat University in Thailand to undertake graduate field work in cultural anthropology. Now a business professional with over 30 years of experience in disciplines of organizational effectiveness, Richard E. Thomas most recently founded Hilton Head-based Legacy Leadership, LLC. The company brings accomplished business professionals together to offer high-quality consulting and leadership training to local businesses.

Having served in psychological operations with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he began working for international beverage companies as a marketing and business development executive. Before founding Legacy Leadership, LLC, he was a founding partner of Battlefield Leadership, CEO of the Outpatient Surgery Center, president and CEO of the Millennium Group, partner of Renaissance Leadership, Inc., a consultancy serving companies in the telecommunications and financial sectors, and and an executive in such companies as QVC Network, Comcast Corporation, and Home Box Office.

Mr. Thomas is currently involved with the Civil War Trust, Heritage Library, and the Hilton Head Institute.
